Minimum Requirements

The minimum requirements that a device needs to meet are that it:

• • is able to be connected to the school's Wi-Fi network.

  • has a web browser that can browse the world wide web including sites such as Gmail or Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Classroom.

  • has a case or cover to mitigate potential damage.

  • can hold a charge till the end of the school day.

  • runs fast enough for a child to not feel frustrated when using it.

Recommended Requirements

The recommended requirements that a device should meet are that it:

• is a Chromebook

  • has a screen that measures at least 16 cm diagonally.

  • has a keyboard (either built in or detachable).

  • is lightweight.

  • is used only by the child.

  • is able to be connected to the school's Wi-Fi network.

  • has a web browser that can browse the world wide web including sites such as Gmail or Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Classroom.

  • can hold a charge till the end of the school day.

  • runs fast enough for a child to not feel frustrated when using it.

Stationery Purchase

In Term 4 each year we send out stationery lists for the following year. For students in Years 5-8, the stationery list will include a suggested BYOD device for families who are new to the BYOD programme. This is an excellent option for families who wish to purchase a device but don't know where to start. Families are also welcome to purchase an alternative device. Please make sure it meets the requirements above, if this is the case.
